Our History

From Heartland Roots to High-Quality Yak Meat

From Prairie to Plate – The Story of Savannah Ridge Farms

Savannah Ridge Farms was born from a simple belief: that families deserve healthy, sustainable, and delicious meat raised with care. Nestled in the rolling farmland of Indianola, Illinois, our operation began with a passion for regenerative agriculture and a deep respect for the land.

Over the years, our commitment to quality has never wavered. We chose yak—a lean, nutrient-rich red meat prized for its taste and health benefits—not just because it’s different, but because it’s better. Our herd is pasture-raised in open fields, living freely and feeding naturally, the way nature intended.

What started as a small farm with big dreams has grown into one of the Midwest’s most trusted sources for pasture-raised yak meat. From our family to yours, we’re proud to deliver a product that’s as good for you as it is for the planet.
